Hosting.com – Data Center Expansion

Hosting.com owns and operates six data centers across the United States, including one in central Denver. 360 Engineering provided mechanical and plumbing engineering services for an expansion of this facility, including installation of a new cooling and power infrastructure to accommodate 40,000 square feet of co-location space. Because the building operates with N+1 redundancy (a form of resilience that ensures system availability in the event of component failure), the design incorporated an additional generator, new uninterruptible power supply (UPS), and a new battery system. In addition, new chilled water lines were routed to computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units, with sufficient future capacity to support an additional five CRAC units; ventilation was added to the new battery room; and a new fuel system was designed for the existing generators with capacity for future expansion. The expanded and re-engineered data center can now take advantage of industry-leading Green Design standards, achieving stable temperature, humidity, and airflow management that supports data protection and energy efficiency.

Colorado Center – Tenant Buildouts and Renovations

The Colorado Center office and retail complex, located between downtown Denver and the Denver Tech Center, consists of Tower I, Tower II, newly completed Tower III, and the Annex Building. 360 Engineering has thus far completed over 30 tenant finish projects and renovations within these buildings, providing both mechanical engineering design and consulting services. In addition to multiple projects for office spaces, 360 provided HVAC and plumbing system design for a 4,900-square-foot fitness center on the first floor of the Annex Building, which included new restrooms and locker rooms.

Arapahoe County – District Attorney’s Office

Arapahoe County remodeled the existing 11,145-square-foot District Attorney’s Office located on the first, second, and third floors of the County building. The project included the addition of new offices, new cubicle furniture layouts, and new conference rooms. 360 Engineering evaluated and modified the mechanical system including the addition of new fan coil units, redistribution of the supply air ductwork and diffusers, relocation of temperature controls, and coordinating the diffuser layouts with the architect and electrical engineer to prevent conflicts with lighting or other ceiling features. The mechanical system primarily uses four-pipe fan coil units (FCUs), except an existing constant volume unit serving part of the third floor was converted to a variable volume and temperature (VVT) system.

Arapahoe County – Clerk and Recorder’s Office

The Arapahoe County Clerk and Recorder’s Office added a new training room, two new offices, a new conference room, and two one-stall restrooms to an existing warehouse. 360 Engineering designed the new mechanical and plumbing systems for the 2,600-square-foot build-out, which involved new rooftop units (RTUs) for the training room, redistribution of the existing RTU supply ductwork for the new conference room and two new offices, new exhaust fans for the restrooms, a new plumbing system for the entire space, and performance specifications for the fire protection system.

South Adams County – Fire Administration Headquarters

South Adams County Fire Protection District, serving Commerce City, Henderson, and parts of unincorporated Adams County, underwent an expansion, including improvements to existing fire stations and the construction of a new centralized fire administrative headquarters. 360 Engineering designed the mechanical and plumbing systems for the new building, including an energy-efficient geothermal ground-source heat pump system with a bore field.

The ground-up headquarters building design consisted of three floors totaling approximately 14,000 square feet. The basement included an archive storage space, mechanical, electrical, and water entry rooms; and an unassigned area to be utilized by the building owner for future use. Floors one and two focused primarily on offices and a board room with restrooms, break rooms and conference rooms throughout the space.

First Citizens Bank – New Branch Banks

First Citizens Bank (FCB) has several branch locations around metro Denver, including Cherry Creek, Denver Tech Center, Westminster, and Meridian. Working with Davis Partnership Architects, 360 Engineering provided mechanical and plumbing engineering services for these newly constructed banks, ranging in size from 5,300 to 8,400 square feet. Each new building was constructed with energy-efficient geothermal ground-source heat pump systems.

Design scope included the HVAC system with zoning based on ground source heat pumps; diffuser selections; exhaust system for restrooms and janitors’ closets; mechanical systems for entries, IT rooms, and ATM rooms; full plumbing design; gas piping for fireplace; hydronic snowmelt system; and design of geothermal — ground heat exchanger.

FirstBank Holding Company – Corporate Headquarters Remodel

360 Engineering’s long-time relationship with FirstBank Holding Company has included work on over sixty branch locations, including mechanical and plumbing system design for a significant remodel of FirstBank’s corporate headquarters in Lakewood, Colorado.

The project involved the first, second, and third floors and included new office space, two new pairs of restrooms, and remodels of existing office and breakroom areas. A sophisticated design using advanced HVAC systems maximizes both user comfort and energy efficiency.

FirstBank – Speer & Broadway Flagship Bank

A long-time relationship with FirstBank Holding Company has included work on over sixty branch locations, from remodels to brand new multi-story building projects.  For a new flagship bank at Speer and Broadway in downtown Denver, 360 Engineering designed the HVAC and plumbing systems for the 5,500-square-foot main building, remote drive-thru canopy, and 3,150-square-foot retail space.

Wiland – Corporate Headquarters Building

This state-of-the-art, 60,266-square-foot commercial office building is located in the Boulder Tech Center. During a large-scale tenant improvement project, 360 Engineering designed mechanical and plumbing systems for the entire space, including offices, restrooms, break-rooms, and common areas.

The building serves as the headquarters for Wiland, Inc., with around 175 employees, they are a provider of business intelligence and data-driven marketing solutions for clients in a wide range of sectors.

Metro Caring – New Building

Metro Caring, a not-for-profit hunger relief organization that provides urgent food assistance and related services to individuals and families in need had outgrown its facility. Conditions were cramped, and parking was limited. A new ground-up 15,000-square-foot facility constructed on the existing site and an adjacent vacant lot consists of a reception area, welcome center, client care offices, administrative offices, boardroom, nutrition center with kitchen, and a “healthy living” space featuring a Client Choice Market. The market is completely stocked with shelving, reach-in coolers, and freezers, and has support areas for processing, warehousing, and a loading dock.

Multiple mechanical systems were evaluated, including evaporative cooling and mechanical cooling with either change-over bypass or VAV operation before deciding on a combination of VAV and constant volume. To meet a strict budget while limiting onsite water use, plumbing fixtures were specified at low flow rates to achieve a smaller standard tap size.
